Watch FOO FIGHTERS Play 'Secret' Show In Frome, Somerset, England
February 24, 2017FOO FIGHTERS are playing an invitation-only show Friday night (February 24) in Frome, Somerset, England to celebrate their confirmation — alongside RADIOHEAD — as the latest headliners for this year's Glastonbury festival.
The secret gig, which is being streamed live via the FOO FIGHTERS YouTube channel below, is taking place at the 500-capacity Cheese And Grain, which describes itself as "a not-for-profit, member owned social enterprise and also a registered charity. Its main aim is to promote and boost Frome's social, cultural and economic life."
The FOO FIGHTERS were due to headline the 2015 edition of the festival but had to pull out after frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg during a gig in Sweden. "You know I hate to do it, but I'm afraid it’s just not physically possible for me at the moment," he explained on the band's web site at the time. "We're doing our best right now to work out a plan, so bear with us. You know we're good for our word. But for now, I need to make sure we have YEARS of gigs ahead of us."
In addition to a few low-key solo gigs by Dave Grohl, the FOO FIGHTERS played a private benefit concert in Los Angeles in October and performed at an all-star benefit concert honoring Tom Petty as the 2017 MusiCares Person Of The Year on February 10 in Los Angeles. A string of European dates in the summer have also been announced.
FOO FIGHTERS have been on hiatus since November 2015, but rumors about a new record and a second season of the FOO FIGHTERS' road documentary series, "Sonic Highways", have been circulating.
The last FOO FIGHTERS album, released in 2014 and also called "Sonic Highways", was recorded while the band was filming the series.
